David and Mideum first met at a Korean church in Tampa, Florida, in 2018. David first saw Mideum on Thanksgiving Sunday when the youth group was dancing after the service. He had a crush on Mideum at first sight, especially captivated by her energetic dancing. It took a few months before they went on their first date. At the time, Mideum wasn't ready to see someone, but after meeting David every single day for a couple of weeks, they began a relationship.

On their second date, when things were not yet official, David, while dropping Mideum off at her place, said, "I'm planning to marry you." Mideum thought this guy was crazy and felt like she needed to run away... but here they are, truly getting married today! Actually, they had a court wedding on August 15th, 2023, and this celebration is for them to share their joy with close friends and family.
